AI Meetup Osijek powered by BIOS
Osijek, April 23, 2025 – The AI Meetup Osijek was held at the BIOS Business Incubator, bringing together experts in the field of artificial intelligence as well as interested individuals from various sectors to exchange knowledge and experiences on today’s most talked-about technology. One of the event organizers, Brando Koch, Director of the company Intelligentia, stated:
“Our goal was to bring together people who work with AI technologies every day, whether in academia or industry, and to show that Osijek and the Osijek-Baranja County have significant potential for the development and application of artificial intelligence. And we’ve succeeded!”
Collaboration between BIOS and Innovative Companies Intelligentia and Analyzee
The event was organized by the BIOS Business Incubator in cooperation with two resident AI technology companies: Intelligentia d.o.o. and Analyzee d.o.o. The Director of the BIOS Business Incubator, Igor Medić, opened the conference with words of praise for the organizing companies for their initiative, emphasizing the importance of nurturing innovative companies and startups like these—something BIOS has been successfully doing for many years.
Artificial Intelligence – A Technology Shaping the Future
The core part of the program consisted of four lectures by AI experts:
Filip Macukić, Director of Mediartem AI, opened the lecture series with a presentation titled “How to (Remain) Irreplaceable in the Age of AI.” He emphasized the importance of developing “AI-resilient” skills such as critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence, leadership, and adaptability, along with conscious use of AI tools. He stressed that ethics must be the foundation of technological development to ensure its benefits are sustainable and fair.
Ivan Židov, Director of TextValue, gave a lecture titled “VisionGPT: The Possibilities It Opens,” presenting a revolution in image processing capabilities through new AI models. He described practical applications ranging from visual quality control on production lines to satellite image analysis, highlighting how this technology enables faster and more efficient decision-making.
Continuing the topic, Domagoj Ćorić, Director of Arkensight, delivered a talk titled “From Pixels to Decisions” in which he demonstrated how aerial drone footage, combined with AI, is transforming tasks such as port surveillance and road damage inventory—significantly reducing the need for human resources and data processing time.
The final lecture, titled “AI: Present and Future,” was delivered by organizer Brando Koch, whose company Intelligentia develops and applies AI technologies. He discussed current challenges and opportunities brought by AI, predicting strong growth in robotics and the emergence of “agentic AI” – autonomous systems capable of solving complex tasks without predefined deterministic programming. He offered participants three key pieces of advice:
-
Work with AI technology, not against it.
-
Learn to use general-purpose AI tools like ChatGPT and DeepResearch.
-
Continuously explore new AI solutions specific to your industry.
Panel Discussion: Ethical Dilemmas and the Future of Work in the AI Era
While the lectures prompted numerous questions from the audience, a truly interactive discussion followed during the panel session. The speakers exchanged views and experiences on topics such as ethics in the application of AI, job security in the age of automation, and the potential for coexistence between humans and AI technologies. The panel raised many important questions and highlighted the need for continuous and responsible development of this powerful technology.
